LUMA is a next-generation financial service that integrates AI
Designed to enhance financial literacy and decision-making, LUMA prioritizes privacy and data security while offering seamless budgeting, spending insights, and smart financial recommendations. My role in this project involved research, user experience design, branding, and prototyping, ensuring that AI-driven interactions felt both intuitive and trustworthy.
Brand Strategy
Designing LUMA was centered around understanding how users perceive privacy and security in the digital landscape, especially within the context of financial services. The challenge was to create an experience that not only feels secure but also appeals as trustworthy and transparent—key components in building user confidence with AI-assisted banking. After extensive research on artificial intelligence and its application across industries, I identified patterns and best practices that helped me design an interface that instills trust. The strategy was to humanize the AI experience—making the technology feel approachable, while still being powerful and secure. Every design element, from the color palette to interactive features, was chosen to evoke safety and reliability, ensuring users feel confident in their data privacy. The brand strategy behind LUMA also plays a critical role in this. It’s about positioning LUMA not only as a cutting-edge financial tool but also as a trusted partner in managing finances. The AI-powered features are presented as assistive, ensuring users feel in control at all times, balancing automation with human-centric design.
User Persona
For this project, I developed a single, core user persona to maintain a sharp focus on research and user feedback. By narrowing the scope, I was able to concentrate on A/B testing and iterative refinements to enhance LUMA’s app layout. This approach allowed me to deeply analyze user behavior and preferences, ultimately ensuring the design meets both functional and emotional needs. The insights gathered through this process were crucial in fine-tuning the app’s usability, making it more intuitive, engaging, and aligned with user expectations.
